Quiz on Act Two. Time permitting, we will begin the documentary on Miller and Kazan's relationship. We will read an overview guide to the play, and begin reading an essay written by Miller about the role of theater in America.

Tuesday

Discussion of Proctor's dilemma: why is he conflicted about signing his name? How is this decision made more complex by his relationship with Abigail?Responding to students' questions raised by the study guide. The continuing with the documentary, None Without Sin.
HW: Finish watching the remainder of the documentary outside of class, while at school. You should do so by Monday. The MPEG file is located in the READ>English>Easton>Videos file, and is entitled, "none_without_sin."

Wednesday

Performance practice. You are to choose a scene which you would like to perform for the class. Today we will conduct a read through of the assigned scene.
HW: We will have an objective test on the play on Monday. I will also collect your annotations at that time.
