Week 5 Syllabus, 4/18/16

PUSH COMES TO SHOVE as the Invisible Man stubles blindly through Harlem, confronted by the Peter Wheatstraw's who attempt to guide him, and the Lucius Brockway's who attempt to thwart or destroy him. That the IM cannot understand his world--that he cannot understand what is happening and why--helps us sympathize with his plight. Who hasn't felt uncomfortable and confused, bewildered by social expectation?
