Leslie Karen Easton-Stensland and longtime friend (and then some), Tony Marici, seen here at a Kerry-Edwards labor rally at Daily Plaza. Note my Mom's keen eye for fashion,

As some may know, my Mom's health has been very poor of late. Sadly, she passed away on Sunday May 3. My Mom suffered from several illnesses, including Guillian Barre syndrome, chronic inflammatory demyelinating  polyneuropathy, emphysema (COPD) and rheumatoid arthritis. She had moved into Rainbow Hospice the Ark on Friday morning. My sister was holding her hand when she took her last breath, and all my family had been with her during her last days.

She was quite a lady, which is a kind euphemism I use here freely. For those of you interested in the wake and funeral, that information follows. My thanks for all the kindnesses shown to my Mom and yours truly over the years, and especially over the past 10 months. The funeral home web page and message board is here.

Our family will walk in her and my Uncle John's memory at the Les Turner ALS Walk for Life on September 27th, which would have been her 73rd birthday!
