Week 7 Syllabus, 2/15/16
WE'LL FINISH READING AND PRESENTING the Greek heroes and gods. Remember that you should write questions on each divinity/hero on both Jungian and Monomythic interpretation. How does this hero embody duality and conflict? How does the Greek god reinforce the idea of departure, initiation, and return? We will return to a more careful study of Jung, and also watch a lecture by Campbell, on Jung, before turning our attention to our next text, a modern novel entitled The Life of Pi.
MONDAY

- HW: The written part of your paper is due one week from this coming Wednesday. Your paper should present your figure in the context of modern America.
