We will see Athens rise from a rural backwater to an international trading power, the rise of Hippias' brutal attempts at self-preservation, Cleisthenes overthrow of this tyrant in 510 b.c.e. and the increasing power of demos and the rise of a meritocracy, and the defeat of Isagora in 508, the first step toward empire.
