Weeks 8 & 9 Syllabus, 2/22/16
LAST WEEK, WE FINISHED PRESENTING the Greek heroes and gods. Your paper needs to provide insight into the mythic figure in the context of Jungian and Monomythic views. How does this hero embody duality and conflict? How does the Greek god reinforce the idea of departure, initiation, and return? I also want you to include some contemporary context for the mythic figure, how/why it endures today. Finally, you will begin reading the novel The Life of Pi.
